The Choreographer

The extensive experience as a dancer and the continuous research of new expressive means, lead her to explore new possibilities of visual language and movement. In June 1999 she creates her first choreography.

Vanessa, over the years, developed a more experimental and contemporary choreographic work, melting dance with contemporary theatre, visual and multimedia art. Her choreographies have been performed Austria  Czech Republic  Italy, Switzerland, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, United States, Papua New Guinea and Venezuela\ and in collaboration with numerous theatres they were staged at international festivals in Vienna, Linz, Venice (Biennale Danza), Spoleto (Festival Dei Due Mondi), Prague, Rome (Rome Philharmonic and Auditorium, Park of Music),  Dar es Salaam and New York (reverb dance Festival, Dance Gallery Festival, Current Sessions), Washington DC, Lugano (Ticino in danza), Port Moresby just to name a few. 

In 2007 she established the company “FLUSSO Dance Project” of which she is currently Artistic Director and resident choreographer. Since 2008 She is the Artistic Advisor of the Visa 2 Dance Festival following on 2012 the Time2dance Festival. In May/June 2010 she took part of the CHOREOGRAPHIC COLLISION project at “Biennale Danza” in Venice directed by Ismael Ivo.

She lived and worked in New York. (2011- 2017) Her work has been presented in many festivals and platforms of the NYC dance scene. Latest creations are RED KNOT for the TICINO IN DANZA festival in Switzerland, KINYAGO for the TIME2DANCE Festival in Tanzania and ME-CHANCAL for the Dance Gallery Festival @ Alvin Ailey Citigroup theatre, NY. THE THOUSAND and ONE NIGHT was presented in preview on Feb 2015 @Alwan for the Arts and ME_CHANICAL# moving images@ Wild project within The CURRENT SESSIONS 2015. She is the founder and the Artistic Director of IDaCo nyc - Italian Dance Connection. In this new platform of Dance & Art she presented ME_CHANICAL# moving images & TUNNEL CITY.

In May 2015 she launched IDACO nyc (Italian Dance COnnection) the new  italian contemporary dance platform in NYC.

After living for 3 years in Port Moresby (2018 - 2021), Papua New Guinea she moved in August 2021 to Caracas where she continues with all her different contemporary dance projects in collaboration with the Teresa Carreno Danza Contemporanea and the Compania Nacional de Danza.
