Vanessa Tamburi was born in Rome, from 1978 to 1985 she studied at the "Accademia Nazionale di Danza di Roma". She completes her formation at MUDRA (Maurice Béjart’s School in Brussels) 1986/1987.
In July 87, Pierre Lacotte and Ghislaine Thesmar offer her a contract with the "Ballets de Monte-Carlo" (Jean-Yves Esquerre and Jean-Christophe Maillot follow as directors). In 1992, she becomes Soloist. The same year she receives the Positano-Leonide Massine Prize as Italian revelation.
In August 94, she joins the "Hamburg Ballet-John Neumeier" until September 97.
In August 97 she is following the career as a soloist at the "Wiener Staatsoper Ballet" (artistic director Renato Zanella).
During those years she dances SOLO parts in all traditional and contemporary repertoire, she inspired choreographers for new creations and she took part to a large number of Galas : Italy (Positano, Udine,..), Germany (Berlin Deutsche Oper,...), Austria (S.Polten , Vienna), USA (Atlanta).
The extensive experience as a dancer and the continuous research of new expressive means, such as visual arts and contemporary theatre lead her to explore new possibilities of visual language and movements. In June 1999 she creates her first choreography.
